Another Mommy Blog
We took the girls to the park on Monday to burn off a little steam. There were a few of Hailey’s friend boys playing soccer out on the field about 25 feet away. Luke asked her to go say hello to them and walked over with Sophia. When I came up to Hailey, she was sitting on the rocks where he left her pouting. I asked her why she didn’t go over to see the boys. She said, “I want them to stop playing and come say hi to me.”
Oh, Lordy, Girlfriend! You have a lot to learn about boys. First of all, you cannot tear them away from sports for anything, especially not something you want them to do. Second of all, they are not going to come over to say hi to you if you look like you are high maintenance (ie. pouting). But, God love her, for having high standards. Maybe this means that she’ll never find anyone good enough for her and I won’t have to worry.

I hate to tell you this, but there is a certain kind of man (as in Chris Songer and his firtborn – but ONLY his firstborn) who fall for that kind of female power play every time. I think they see it as some kind of damsel in distress thing. Poor sweet boys. They don’t have a clue what they’re up against.
