A Little Behind

Fine…I’ll admit it. We are a little behind on our picture posting. I realize that it is June and I’m trying to entice you with pictures from Easter, but you know, we’ve been a little busy. Also, there were some technical difficulties and some other things going and also a new camera to figure out. In other words, we’ve got picture posting issues. What can I say? We’re just behind. That doesn’t make the pictures any less adorable.

I’ve got three separate events going here…

1) First Day in the New House

A neighbor brought us chocolate cupcakes…

She did not stick around for the clean up

2) Easter

There is something I love about this picture. Maybe because it totally captures their usual activities – Hailey=Talking and Fifi=Preparing for trouble

3) Graduation (Still don’t have the video yet, I’m having some other issues with that)

Here she is performing a little song which maybe you’ll hear someday, but make sure you are sitting down because it’s like a 10 minute song (no joke)

This is the introduction that she gave…I’m just standing on some squashed parents to get this picture.

Wardrobe Malfeasance

Grandma put this skirt on Sophia today. I argued adamantly that this was Hailey’s skirt. Hailey has been wearing it all summer long. I probably have pictures of her in this skirt. Turns out, it’s a 12M size. Oops.

PS: This is precisely why little children should not wear white shirts!

Down on the Farm

On Saturday morning, the Hamilton clan visited Southern Belle Farms in McDonough, GA. It was quite a thrill for Hailey who has been studying farms at school. It was quite a thrill for Sophia because there was an endless supply of strawberries. I honestly cannot tell you how many she ate while we were out in the strawberry patch. It was the first time that she ever pointed at something then immediately pointed at herself as if to say “give me that NOW!” How can we resist that? We just kept giving them to her (or she simply grabbed them) until she was totally covered in strawberry goo. When I finally said enough, she through a typical Sophia tantrum complete with head in the dirt. Strawberry goo + dirt = One sticky, happy baby.

The girls not only picked strawberries, but they also pet bunnies, held baby chicks, fed goats, heard a mama cow mooing, and made friends with a friendly little black and white cow. There are tons of good pictures on Flickr, but here are a few of my favorites…

At the beginning of the video, watch Sophia’s hand get snapped by the baby duck. The best part about that scene is that she doesn’t even cry. She thinks about it for half a second and then figures that she’s got more important things to do.

Today, I decided that what this blog really needs is an ongoing series, and what better topic than a chronicle of the adventures of our little DZ. I thought that it would take me several days to compile enough DZ scenarios to put together a week’s worth of material, but guess what? She provided so many DZ moments in one morning that we should be good for quite a while.

We took Sophia’s 8 month pictures this morning. Although there are many expressions here, I’m always struck by how fast she cycles between them. All of these were taken within a 10 minute span! There are more on Flickr.
